If I Were....

a kind of cereal, I'd be Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs. It's all sugar, but the mention of peanut butter (protein) makes me feel a little less guilty somehow.

If I were a painting, I'd be painted by an impressionist; after all, I often have a plan, but the details aren't clear or precise--and that's what makes it so beautiful. I can rest in that (most of the time).

If I were a country, I'd be Spain. On the one hand, there's the cosmopolitan Barcelona--but that's such a small part of the nation. On the other, there are much smaller cities full of a different sort of vibrant life, focused on family and historical culture. And whether in Seville, Granada, Valencia, or Salamanca (or my life), there's a premium placed on family and friends, leisure time, napping, food, and pastries. Plus you can walk almost anywhere, and I love walking.

If I were an animal, I'd be a yellow lab puppy. When they're happy, they are so very happy. When they play, they play hard. But when they're tired, they sleep so very well.

If I were a grocery store, I'd be Publix. While I love the produce, prepared food, and atmosphere at Whole Foods, I have a hard time swallowing the notion of spaghetti sauce that costs over $8/jar or a grocery store that doesn't sell margarine. Plus I wouldn't want to out price the common folk. With that being said, I am a bit more exciting than Kroger, and I'd never require people to have a special card to get the sales price; that's annoying.

If I were a food, well...we all already know what this would be, right?

If I were a super hero, I'd be Wonder Woman. This is a big "if" since I've tried numerous time to become her--by spinning around and around in Wonder Woman underoos in our backyard....

So what would you be?

p.s. I'm grateful for wireless internet courtesy of my former guest blogger Brian who was kind enough to buy a router for the toolshed and hook it up a few months ago. Blogging from bed is much more fun!

If you were a yellow lab puppy I hope you'd be at Petco and I could come adopt you. Those are the cutest puppies in the world!!

Whole Paycheck still remains my primary source of food. Maybe it's because there is one a block away from my office. Yes, I am that lazy.

And I would want to be my dog. My mom has been taking care of him and boy is he spoiled SILLY.

If I were an animal I would be a fish. I love the water...especially this time of year.

If you were a song, what would you be?

This is a cool post...i like the idea behind it. I do love Publix, but unfortunately we are deprived of those here in TX. I also love Wonder Woman, with her blue, sparkly bloomers, red corset top, and of course you've gotta love those gold wrist bands. But the best part of her outfit are the boots. I love knee high boots...especially red ones. If i were a pair of shoes i'd be my Steve Madden red knee high boots.

i definately identify with the impressionist painting...i tend to focus on the big picture and could generally careless about the details. details shmeetails.

hmmm...i'll have to think some more on this post and figure out what country, animal, grocery store, etc i would be...

Lib: Excellent question. I tried to think of a song when I was writing this post but couldn't decide. I guess if I had to pick right now....I'd choose Counting Crows' "Rain King." The song is a happy tempo, which I generally am, but the lyrics are clever and sort of thoughtful and reveal a less than simple life. And I think about heaven a lot--and faith and sex and God:) What song would you pick?

Ella: Your dog lives the good life!

I like this and I think you did a pretty good job identifying yourself. I just posted mine on my blog :)

What a neat idea! I especially love that you picked Spain. It's one of my favourite places and I agree wholeheartedly about the mix of urban and rural areas making it so interesting. I'm definitely thinking on all of these... but the one I know for sure? If I was an animal I would definitely be a dog. They just seem so much happier than cats!

I would definitely be Publix and Wonder Woman too, though for cereal I think Cap'n Crunch. So sweet and tasty.

Did you know we're getting a Fresh Market in Macon though? Score! Oh, and also, re. stylist in Macon, I went to Chadwix - and even as someone who used to drive to Atlanta for Jameson Shaw, I can say without a doubt that it was the most I've ever paid for a hair appt IN MY LIFE. I do love, it though.

ps I knew when I read Lib's question that you would say Rain King. KNEW IT.

I had heard rumors a Fresh Market was going in near Kinetix. That's an improvement!

And I've been to Chadwix, and you're right--it's expensive; I nixed that place b/c they kept me waiting a really long time for my appointment--I finally got up and told them I was going to leave, and the stylist finally was ready. But your hair looks great, and it's nice to avoid the drive and hassle. Ok, regular Captain Crunch or with berries? And what song would you be?

Brian: I will not disagree.

Brandy: Dogs are just SO much better all around than cats....no contest!

If I were a country, I'd be Switzerland and if I were a grocery store, I'd be Costco cause I want to learn to give lots to people without expecting a lot of payback. More of less and just for the sake of giving even if they never return the "favor.":)

Oh, I meant to say more FOR less! Woops!;)

Oh, and one more thing again;)...I was accidentally signed in under my mom's account, who is visiting for the week, when I commented the last few times! I just wanted to clarify!:)

Great post pretty lady. You are such a deep thinker and I admire that. I agree with ya on Publix. I didn't like them the first couple of times I went there but now it's the only place I'll go.

Oh! Dogs rule.
