Products!

I'm not really a product girl, but I like fun products that don't cost a lot (I love a good deal). I have long time favorites like Aquaphor (for my lips), Extra peppermint gum, and Tree Hut Shea Body Butter (Brazilian Nut or Ginger)--which I can sometimes find at Walmart or Kroger, and I've recently discovered some new favorites and would welcome comments about any of the good buys you guys have discovered.

Bi-Lo is a grocery store that's common here, and I've learned that I like its store brand brown sugar and maple syrup oatmeal (usually $1.50) more than the $3 (with a coupon) oatmeal (Quaker Simple Harvest) that I usually buy. The highlighting I subject my hair to has rendered a heavier conditioner necessary, and I now love Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner (but only use it on the bottom half of my hair since it's so moisturizing). I'm also a big fan of Snickers Marathon Caramel Nut Rush bars (tastes like real chocolate, 21 grams of protein, 10 grams of fiber, and is marketed as a low GI food) for when I need something quick to eat--and unlike some of the other protein bars that taste good, they keep me full. I also like my new water bottle ("My glass is always half full.") from Bath & Body Works courtesy of my friend Sara.

p.s. I'm grateful that my sweet nieces are coming to stay with me this Friday & Saturday. I'm taking them to IMAX and to ride the carousel in the park two blocks away; we're making strawberry cupcakes (subject to their approval) for VD; and hopefully having a wii tennis tournament and dinner with some of my friends. Should be a blast.

p.p.s. I'm also thankful that the sun finally came out and brought warm weather with it, which meant croquet and a really fun game of kickball in the park.

Ooooooooooooh, should be a fun time with your nieces! Yay! :-)

I find it hard to believe they wouldn't approve of the cupcakes ;)

The warm weather has been amazing. I'm not ready for it to end.

Funny, I like the VD label. Its seems a bit odd that a Holiday was invented to remind us all (mainly guys perhaps) to remember be loving & romantic for one day. I think it is a holiday devised by the Candy Cartel and the Florist Families !

Glad you're enjoying warm weather over there .....CHEERS !

WTG: I agree with you about VD...which is why you won't find me buying much, if anything, VD related....I like to make my cards, cupcakes, etc. so that I don't support the industry that created VD (but still get to take part in what's sort of a silly yet fun holiday).

TC: Me neither. Hoping we have a few more good days.

Ooh I LOVE a bargain :)

Hair products? I have to say I'm in love with Aussie 3-minute miracle conditioner cos I only have to use it once or twice a month and it makes my hair not only smell great but it really does work on my crappy split ends (my hair is way too long ;D). I have to say I've recently fallen back in love with Timotei cos it was on sale - and although it's cheaper than what I usually buy it actually works just as well :)

I work walking distance to a Sephora which is bad for my wallet. I am such a beauty product whore.

As for kickball - are you catching the fever? A tip for girls - bunt and run. DO NOT look where the ball goes then run. The millisecond makes a big difference as to whether or now you make it to base. :)

Love,

Coach Ella

Ella: I'm glad there's no Sephora near me! Of course, I am usually too cheap to buy anything there. Thanks for the tip....my left quad felt shredded from the sprinting. I guess I should warm up and stretch before playing.

Ys: I've never heard of Timotei, but I like Aussie 3 Min too. I'd forgotten about it, but I love the smell.

I agree with Ella about Sephora...I have somehow convinced myself that those products are an actual need and not a want :) Unfortunately as I sit here and try to think of good buys, I realize that I pay way too much for everything. The only thing I can come up with is my new discovery of using shutterfly.com for photos and getting them developed by Target (usually in one hour for some ridiculously low price). Love your new water bottle!

YAY warm weather - it was 50 here today. I drove home with the window wide open and the kids had ginormous piles of coats on the benches at recess.

Sadly, it'll be back to the 30s tomorrow :( It was nice while it lasted...

Love the water bottle. I may have to look for one of those.

Oh, and I tagged you for a cool blog award - come check it out!

As for products, Dove Dark Choc is better than alot of fancy stuff this side of the atlantic. Other than that, I'm a kraft macncheese girl. No off-brands with those. And let's do get together soon. Have fun with the girls and pink cupcakes! Love cheesy holidays...

As a general rule, strawberry cupcakes should always be subject to kids' approval. :-)
