Blog-a-versary?

My very first blog post was written on November 22, 2005, and it was about the virtues of Inside Out Reeses. Imagine that.

I originally created a Blogger profile so I could comment on my then-boyfriend's sister's blog that chronicled her year in France. A few months into blogging Jeff emailed me and asked me to share the story of how I became a Christian, which I did in this post. We had stumbled across each other's blog through Kimberly's blog. And that was my very first friendship with a strange blogger that I did not actually know. He's ended up being a friend and someone I turn to for Godly advice on a regular basis.

Now I've come to know several of you on a gmail chat and e-mail basis, and several others of you from months of reading about your lives. And while a virtual community is obviously not the same as people who know me in a more full and complete way (you guys probably miss out on a lot of my flaws, for example), the blog world is a special place that often feels supportive and encouraging. I appreciate you guys, especially when you challenge me to look at things in a different way (yes, even you Aaron:), try something new, or otherwise help make my world bigger.

p.s. I'm grateful for massages...even when they hurt.

Happy Bloggaversary!

I agree: the blogging world is such a unique and strange community. Non-bloggers just don't get it, do they?

Happy blogaversary, Ally! You remain one of my very favorite bloggers and very favorite gchatters.

Your p.s. seems kind of cryptic and sad...hope everything is ok:-)

AM: I've never been described as "cryptic and sad" before--exciting! I had a massage yesterday, and part of it really hurt and I'm sore today. I have a knot--probably from helping lift several thousand pounds of playground equipment at work one day. Thanks for being concerned:)

It's so awesome that my blog was the connector for you and Jeff and that was the entry point for you joining the blogging community. You definitely enrich the internet with your posts. I feel honored to have been a small link on that journey. Especially since I am not always so great at being a consistent blogger and sometimes I get mad and want to delete everything I've ever written. :) It's my favorite thing in the world for friends of mine to become friends. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for reminding us all to be more grateful!!!!

It's such a blessing to have "met" you through the blogosphere. I would love to meet you in person someday.

Before I started blogging, I would have never thought this. Maybe its something you need to experience first hand to realize? I think its humbling to know that people across the world think and experience some of the same things.

How the heck did I not comment on this? I hate it when I read my google reader and then forget to comment. Anyway, I hope you had a great bloaversary and a WONDERFUL thanksgiving!!

Happy, uh, Anniversary.

I enjoy our challenging conversations, too. Probably not as much as you enjoy talking to that "solid" man of yours, but I can stand being second. :P

Sorry I didn't get to this sooner, but I was just so humbled by what you wrote and wasn't sure how to respond. It’s truly been my pleasure to get to know you and I'm glad that you took the time to write back a "strange blogger" :-)

You're definitely one of my favorite bloggers as well. Definitely.

Your posts are always so insightful and thought provoking. And you have great taste in food. Big points for that.

You are such a nice person. If my cousin did that, at the Thanksgiving table, I would have gone out of my WAY to call her out on it...seriously. I am all about the PDA when it's the right time/place, but the Thanksgiving table?? Don't those two kids know that denial can actually be a good thing?? hahaha. =-)
