Lightening crashes, a new mother cries...

Her placenta falls to the floor. I've always thought that any song that can work in the word "placenta" deserves some respect. Live is a great band.

Lost & found: Yeah! I just found my tree stand and am decorating my apartment. I love the cozy feeling of having a tree, lights, and all of that fun stuff.

Love: To love and be loved....

Laura: She's become one of my very good friends since we finished law school and has certainly been an inspiration and source of encouragement to me in my walk with God.

The Lion, the Witch, & The Wardrobe: I'm loving this book! I'm planning to buy the DVD for my niece once we finish reading it, so hopefully we'll like the movie too.

Laughter: I love laughing, especially when I do it so hard that my stomach hurts the next day. Unfortunately that kind of laughter hasn't happened in a long time. I need to work on that.

Longhorn's: It's one of the few chains I don't mind occasionally eating at, which comes in handy when negotiating restaurant selections with my sister and brother-in-law.

Law school: I'm so glad that I went. It was the first time I'd been really challenged academically, and all in all, I enjoyed it, especially flag football. Plus I made some great friend while I was there.

London: This was the first place abroad that I visited. I had to persuade my parents to let me go with a group of students two years older than me (I was about to turn 15) and a hippie-like teacher. I was very surprised that they let me go (no doubt a result of my masterful skills of persuasion), had a great time, and got (very very) drunk for the first time (I alternated between screwdrivers and Kahlua-gross). I loved Oxford, seeing plays, shopping, and just wandering around a new city.

Leisure, Labor Day, Lifehouse, Lion bars, Lucky Charms (and the sweet cafeteria worker from my freshman year of college who provided me with a permanent stash hidden in a cabinet, so I was never without it), lattes (specifically Chai Tea), Lemonheads, Lester (the best cab driver in Macon), Lexis (I cannot imagine having to research and shephardize by book!), life, LFO's "Summer Girls," "Love at First Sight" (Kylie Mingoue...even if I don't believe in it, it's a fun song), "Last Kiss" (my dad sang this song to me growing up, so I was thrilled when Pearl Jam recorded it), "Let Everything that has Breath," "Look Away" (Chicago), liberty, lake houses, larks, lounging around....

Lauren: My niece is a blast, and she's incredibly photogenic too. I love how she'll play alone for hours, speaks her own little language, and has such a strong personality.

p.s. To appease Ozzy who thinks I'm a "picky judgmental not-nice-word," I've compromised about meeting his friend Tim who he has wanted to set me up with for months now. Since I'll be in Atlanta tomorrow night, a group of us are going to dinner. I figured that's much better than a date since I don't think I would be interested in anything other than friendship. With that being said, I will certainly do my best to keep an open mind. And regardless, it'll be fun to try a new restaurant and hang out with friends.

Great tree - is it real?

You'll have to tell us how things with Tim go. Who knows, you could have your very own "Tim" too!

ps: I am also a secret fan of Kylie.

+1 for Live. And while we're at it, I might as well confess my admiration for Led Zeppelin. Its a shame they were before my time. Oh, might as well mention Linkin Park and Lostprophets for loud music to annoy the neighbors. Not because I dislike my neighbors, I just like loud music. :)

Wait until you see my tree: typical Aaron. :P

And I thought Mrs. Grisham was 4th grade? Anyway, glad to see you returning to some classic literature.

And who could forget laughter? Nick says that if I had an Indian name, it would be "Dissolves Into A Thousand Giggles". I laugh just for the sake of laughing. You know you've got a gift when other people join you in laughter and they don't even know why. Ok, so I'm easily entertained.

This is the one who "drinks like Nick Lachey"?

Does that mean he is built like Nick Lachey, too? Because that might change things a bit...

Anyway, good luck! There is no harm in meeting new people, even if it is only so you can make fun of them afterwards for a few days...hee hee

Great list Ally! And ditto on the tree, it's beautiful. Also ditto on Live. I do so very much love them, and your comment re. respect for the placenta work-in is is noted. I must say, though, that had my OB actually let my placenta fall to the floor, that may've just been the end of the line in terms of how much physiological yuckiness I could've handled on either of those two glorious days! It's all totally bearable, but once you get what you've been holding out for (the baby!), my ability to ignore the blech part of it immediately begins to wane. Okay. That was tmi. Sorry.

I haven't been to London but I so, so want to go. I also love Lemonheads (the candy and the band), could never live without lattes, and literally might die if I actually had to shepardize anything myself. Here's to Lexis. I love those people.

Keep an open mind on your "date" - It could be fun. Good luck!

Ella: My tree is a fake! I was a fake tree snob until a few years ago when I didn't want to spend the extra $80 to buy a nice real tree and my mom offered me this pre-lit tree. I've been using it ever since. It's SO much easier than a real tree.

Aaron: I'm just glad you have a tree!

AM: Yes, this is the one who drinks like Nick Lachey. It works out well that we're going to an Irish pub for dinner. And you're right--after all if I didn't meet new people, what/who would I blog about?

Cindy: Child birth seems horrible to me! I almost cried every time my sister had a contraction with her first baby. I think forcing teens to sit in on a bad child birth would be a good method of birth control.

Now that may be the best idea I've heard in quite some time.

Good List! Great Tree...I am going to decorate my place this weekend too, can't wait!

Funny, my study abroad at Oxford was my first trip overseas and it kicked off my passion for travel. Good times:)

Even if your tree is fake, they're still nice to have around. Nothing like a Christmas tree lit up with the lights out around the house. Christmas music playing... cookies baking... yum. Pretending it's snowing outside. (when it's really 75), but hey.

My L gratitude list: love, laughter, living rooms, lemonade, being lazy, getting letters, going out to lunch, Laura (I agree - she's the coolest!), leaves changing colors, learning new things. Love you! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!!!

James/Donatello/exhuastive lister: Good call! I forgot about them too, although I can't quite remember how to spell them. Labby-Las, I think. Sometimes I wish I still had those guys around:)
